Car Payment Calculators
Financing a vehicle is very much like taking out a house mortgage. Bank gives
you necessary amount of money to purchase the vehicle, and you then repay back
the same amount, plus interest. Once you have the final selling price for your
vehicle and bank's interest rate, you can enter those numbers in any calculator
you find on the net to find your monthly payment. Remember to subtract any down
payment and add any associated fees. A loan calculator can be used to compare
two or more loans to find the best deals. Loan calculators can also help when
consolidating or refinancing your car. You can also use online loan calculators
for auto loans. In an online loan calculator, you enter the required numbers
and click the calculate button.
After calculating, chose financing wisely:
Banks are often our first thought for any money needs. For many this will work
fine and should be considered no matter what. However, most car dealerships
have their own lending sources. They will try to put you up with a source that
gives them a better profit margin. This is how they survive. Knowing this can
help you negotiate for a better deal.
Be careful about scams
-
Implying your credit is worse than it really is in order to convince you that
you only qualify for the higher interest loans
- Never tell how much you can
afford to pay per month; just tell them how much you can afford for the car.
- In
case they call with 'bad news' with your loan, it is usually a scam. Most can
check and approve a loan in less than 15 minutes.
- You should not buy
insurance from the dealership. Use a reputable insurance company that is not
associated with the car lot and keep these things separate.
- Offers that
sound too good to be true, usually are. Zero percentage financing is not always
a good option.
- Rollover and upside down. The way this works, you get a more
expensive model and add the amount you owe to the loan for the second car. With
this you may end up having to pay much more than if, you had completed the
terms on the loan for the first car.
